The Church of Scotland has joined with other religious groups across the country to sign a letter commending the Call for a National Day of Prayer in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Signatories include the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of Scotland, the Scottish Episcopal Church, the United Free Church, the United Reformed Church, the Baptist Union of Scotland, the Methodist Church, the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Congregational Federation in Scotland, the Salvation Army, the Church of the Nazarene, and Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Taking place on Sunday 22 March, people of faith are being encouraged to light a candle and place it in their window at 7pm.*

Due to the ongoing issues with the coronavirus please note that the Church of Scotland has taken the decision to cancel all church services for the foreseeable future. This means that our worship service at Kilwinning Abbey Church will not take place until further notice.

Gift Sunday – Sunday 8th December

Members of the congregation are invited to bring along a NEW toy/gift for children/teenagers to the service on Sunday 8 December. These will then be delivered to ‘Cash for Kids’ for distribution to families in time for Christmas.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Once again I am participating in the Reverse Advent Calendar this year and hope you will join me. Instead of opening a door on an advent calendar and eating a chocolate, we ask that you will put an item of non-perishable food in a bag/box each day and bring it to church on Sunday 15 December. The idea of Posada comes from Mexico where people dress up as Mary and Joseph and go from house to house telling people about Jesus and asking for a room to stay overnight.
