Our service starts at 10.30am each Sunday morning. Teas and coffees are served afterwards, over in the Abbey Hall.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated four times each year, on the second Sunday in the months of March, June, September and December. In addition, there are special Communion Services on Maundy Thursday and at other appropriate times throughout the year.
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated during the Sunday service at 10.30am or 11.45am on dates arranged in consultation with the Minister. The Church of Scotland practices Baptism of people of all ages. With regard to infant baptism the parents make public promises before the congregation to God to teach their child the truths and duties of the Christian faith; to bring their child up in the ways of the church; to tell the child that he or she has been Baptised and to set an example by living in a Christian way.
Occur regularly and are arranged by the couple in conjunction with the Minister. Anyone residing within the parish of Kilwinning Old is entitled to be married in the church by the Minister. Beforehand, the Minister will spend time discussing the marriage service with the couple. A good time for couples to make contact with the minister is after Sunday worship in the Abbey Hall around 11.30am.
May take place in the church, the funeral parlour, the graveside as well as at the crematorium. Any member or parishioner may ask for the Minister’s services at this difficult time.
